Configuration
The battery is not fully powered, so you need to charge the battery first. To recharge, you need to make sure that the scooter is turned off and find the connection of the power cable under the deck of the scooter. The LED on the power cable lights up red during the power supply and green after the power supply has ended. the feeding time is up to 12 hours.
The only assembly required to assemble and move the scooter is to fix the handlebar unit. Referring to the user manual and using the included tools, this process took only about 10 minutes from start to finish.
The HANDLEBAR must be pushed in place to ensure that it is fully inserted and at the correct height. Using the tools provided, tighten the bolts to the place where the handlebar should be at height. Finally, turn the brake so that it is facing the HANDLEBAR and tighten the screw until it is tight and tight.
Functions and controls
This electric scooter works like any scooter. It feels a bit bulkier and heavier than an average scooter, but my two kids had no problems and jumped up and started moving (after putting their helmets on). Helmets are always a good, safe choice.
Speaking of safety: as a mother, I appreciate the additional safety that the VIRO Rides 550E electric scooter offers. a main safety feature is the motor and chain of scooters, which are completely closed to avoid health problems. We can also confirm that the brakes are working properly.
We also find that the height-adjustable HANDLEBAR is an interesting feature that allows us to modify the scooter to make it more comfortable and safe for the different sizes of each child.
You can find the power button on the bottom of the scooter. The switch turns on the scooter with the LED light on. There is no way not to turn on the light while the scooter is in operation, which is a nice feature that not only creates a cool “ground effect”, but also provides a visual reminder that you are leaving the power on.
The red accelerator pedal button is conveniently located on the right handlebar. This button is your “start button”. You need to hold down the button to accelerate and go further. The VIRO Rides 550E electric scooter turns on pretty quickly and stays at optimal speed until it loses its charge. There is no way to adjust or change the speed when using this scooter.
Hand brakes are also conveniently located on the HANDLEBARS, only on the left side. We realized that the brakes were very strong and still did exactly what they had planned, stopping the scooter. After braking and the desire to move again, just press the red button on the gas pedal and you will continue the movement.
While the manual says that it can take up to 40 minutes per charge, we found that after about 30 minutes the scooter shows signs of slowed performance. We noticed a small difference in the life span, depending on the weight of each child, with the lighter of the two consistently getting a little more life span (and speed) from the scooter.
Finally, the viro Rides 550E electric scooter also has a stand. I think it’s great that children can leave it standing when they’re not using it, and not throw it away whenever and wherever they want. We hope that this will help you to avoid scratches and not to damage them as soon as possible.
Performance
The VIRO Rides 550E electric scooter is an ideal size for every cyclist. The heavy, durable frame and larger wheels help it to move smoothly over bumps, cracks and pebbles on the road.
The motor drives up to 100 watts, which is not much for climbing large hills or slopes, especially if the rider is closer to the maximum weight limit. The best performance is in the flat streets and sidewalks of the neighborhood.
With average speeds of about 6 to 7 miles per hour, it’s a nice speed for my 12 and 9 year olds, while older kids find it a little slow for their thrill.
Final considerations
If you are looking for an electric scooter, THE viro Rides 550E electric scooter is an easy choice. Overall, it does a good job of providing my children with a safe, long-lasting and entertaining scooter experience. It appeals to my children aged 12 and 9 years because of its street atmosphere and user-friendly design. However, the long feeding time in comparison with the short period of use leaves much to be desired.
